Silao Khaja is an ancient, GI-tagged sweet delicacy originating from the historic town of Silao, situated between Nalanda and Rajgir. It is a multi-layered pastry made of refined wheat flour, ghee, and sugar syrup.

The sweet is famous for its distinct 52 layers which are paper-thin, light, crispy, and non-greasy. It has received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, recognizing its historical origin and unique preparation method.
